We are pleased to announce we’ve been awarded a $2000 grant from the Pacific Power Foundation for the purchase of an environmental monitoring system for the employee cottage. The use of this system will allow us to monitor temperature, humidity, and other conditions within the structure in real time so we may study how these conditions fluctuate over a two year period.
This data will be used to create a controlled environment that meets modern standards for the preservation of artifacts in our collection. Additional funding from the awarded grant will be used to purchase archival materials for the proper storage of documents, photographs, and other items. We are excited to have been awarded this grant and will continue to apply annually for additional capital funds.
