SAVE THE DATE!
The weekend of May 15th and 16th, the N-C-O Ry. is hosting our first volunteer weekend. We welcome you to join us in Alturas, CA to help preserve some of the remaining rolling stock of the old narrow gauge railroad. So put it on the calendar and get ready for an exciting weekend with the N-C-O crew!
We will be doing some light cleaning of passenger cars No. 72 and 22, removing materials from when used as structures in town, and documenting their current conditions to prepare for preservation work. We also plan to document three Florence & Cripple Creek boxcars around town, and will soon be announcing two additional cars to the collection we hope to work on as well.
Lunch will be provided for all those that help out. We are looking at additional activities Sunday morning before everyone heads home. Stay tuned as we will be sending out another email shortly with options for lodging and dining, and more details on the days’ activities. We will be collecting RSVPs then.
